WineBro ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Culinary Happiness Ventures (CHV). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the WineBro mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your phone number or email address, and display name. If you use Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive your name and email from those providers.

Palate Profile: Your taste quiz answers, slider preferences, and the resulting 6-axis palate profile are stored to personalize recommendations.

Tasting Journal: Any tasting notes, ratings, photos, and pairing logs you create are stored in your private journal.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous analytics data including app opens, feature usage, crash reports, and performance metrics via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.

Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide personalized food and drink pairing recommendations
• To generate and refine your palate profile
• To save and display your tasting journal entries
• To track gamification progress (XP, badges, streaks)
• To send push notifications (daily tips, badge alerts) if you opt in
• To improve the app through anonymous analytics
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (Mumbai region, asia-south1) using Firebase's infrastructure. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain). We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Firebase Auth.

All data transmission uses TLS 1.2+ encryption. Firestore security rules ensure you can only read and write your own data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications
• Google ML Kit: For on-device label scanning (processed entirely on your device — no data sent to Google servers)

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data (available in the Profile section of the app)
• Correct your data (edit your profile, journal entries at any time)
• Delete your account and all associated data (see Account Deletion Policy)
• Export your tasting journal (PDF/CSV export, available in Journal settings)
• Withdraw consent for push notifications (via device settings)

6. Age Requirement

WineBro is intended for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. In India, this varies by state (18-25 years). Users must confirm their age during registration. We do not knowingly collect data from underage users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data (profile, journal, gamification state) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

8. Cookies and Tracking

The WineBro mobile app does not use cookies. Firebase Analytics uses device identifiers for anonymous usage tracking, which you can opt out of in your device settings.

9. DPDPA 2023 Compliance (India)

In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

• We process personal data only with your consent (provided during registration)
• You may withdraw consent and request data deletion at any time
• We do not process data of children below 18 years
• Data is stored in India (Firebase asia-south1 region)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in-app and on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
